ReplyDeleteWhen you plan the Awhitu trip try for a weekend, the day trip will not justify all there is to see and do, perhaps find a nice little B&B to stay at like http://awhitu.com/places-to-stay/earthtalk_accomodation.htm, as they are wonderful people and full of local knowledge. Start on Friday night with dinner at the golf club at Awhitu (beside the regional park), and try to plan around the tides so you can walk along our amazing black sand beaches( low tide) and see the full tide in the Manuakau Harbour. The lighthouse is a great experience and there are just so many wonderful beaches to visit.
